SoMa Neighborhood Buzz: Coffee Shops

January 10, 2017

Drip coffee is no longer a craze in San Francisco but the standard and Trinity Place is near them all. Check out these 3 must try coffee shops around SoMa! All less than a mile away. It’s hard not to go to all 3 every day.

Blue Bottle (0.2 miles Trinity Place)

Blue Bottle Coffee

Yelper Bryan D.

What better way to start off your Saturday morning than with a very chocolate-ly mocha from Blue Bottle. Just outside the Twitter building on Market, this coffee is guaranteed fresh, as Blue Bottle only sells coffee that is 48 hours out of the roaster.

Recommend: mocha, latte, and New Orleans

Tip: The shop is small and offers no seating.

Philz Coffee (0.4 miles Trinity Place)

Mint Mojito Coffee

Yelper Daniel C.

Mint Mojito anybody? Famous for their iced mint coffee, this San Francisco original is a must try. Featuring a robust menu broken down by dark, medium, and light roasts, any blend magically transports you to happiness.

Recommend: the Philtered Soul, a medium blend with hazelnut, cocoa, and syrup flavors.

Tip: Drip coffee only, no lattes or cappuccinos.

Sight Glass (0.7 miles Trinity Place)

Sight Glass Coffee

Yelper Hurjane V.

Probably the coolest looking of the 3, the Sight Glass on 7th street, has the look of a coffee factory—well, that’s because it’s the actual production roaster. This shop offers plenty of seating, including an upstairs area that is great for catching up with friends or casual meetings. Though, you might spend more time smelling the rich aroma of your coffee than chatting with friends…

Looking for a San Francisco apartment in SoMa? Trinity Place is a brand new building just steps from tech bus stops and The Orpheum theater on 8th and Market Street.
