The Warriors Move to SF

Jeff Howard June 12, 2019

With Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals being the final Warriors game at Oracle Arena in Oakland, the team will prepare to make the move across the bay this summer. The Warriors new home, The Chase Center, is located in the Mission Bay neighborhood just south of the Giants’ Oracle Park.  Along with the state-of-the-art arena, multiple restaurants, bars, foods halls, and entertainment venues are also slated to be completed this summer. The new location will be easily accessible for San Francisco residents using public transportation such as bike/scooter shares, ferries, and car services. Warriors fans living at our 1188 Mission, 1190 Mission, or 33 8th Trinity Place Apartments should certainly be excited to be just two miles (and a short MUNI ride) from SF’s hottest ticket! Not a basketball fan? The lineup of fantastic concerts scheduled to perform this year is top-notch and entertainment isn’t the only addition to the area with upscale dining and drinking options in the works.

Upcoming Events

Plenty of San Francisco residents are excited for the Warriors to make SF their home, however the upcoming music and comedy acts are hard to beat. The opening act will be The City’s very own Metallica accompanied by the world-renowned San Francisco Symphony.

Local Bars & Restaurants

San Francisco’s SoMa District has long been known for its plentiful dining and drinking options across the contemporary neighborhood. Similar to when the Giants moved to South Beach twenty years ago, the Warriors arrival will certainly attract plenty of popular restaurants and beer gardens to the area.  This eleven acre addition to San Francisco, recently renamed “Thrive City,” will serve as a public meeting ground for San Francisco residents and tourists to enjoy food, drink, art, leisure, and entertainment all in one condense and thriving neighborhood. Developed with public transit in mind, the Chase Center will be easily accessible from historic SF neighborhoods such as Pacific Heights, North Beach, Russian Hill, The Richmond, and everywhere in between. The current plans for the area include an ice skating rink, public art, yoga studios, a farmer’s market, and a plethora of great dining venues. The following restaurants are scheduled to be the first additions around the brand-new home of the Golden State Warriors:
