The Top San Francisco Neighborhoods

Jeff Howard February 15, 2019

San Francisco is known for having some of the most picturesque and diverse urban neighborhoods in the world.  Whether you’re looking for magnificent views, delicious dining options, proximity to work, or all three, Trinity has availability in San Francisco’s most coveted districts.  While these neighborhoods are each very close in distance to one another, they each embody a unique culture.  Longtime San Francisco residents tend to develop their favorite areas across the city due to the advantages present in each neighborhood.  Let’s take a look at what makes the following areas the top San Francisco neighborhoods.

Pacific Heights

Stretching from The Presidio to Van Ness Ave in between Green and California Street is the ritzy Pac-Heights neighborhood.  Known for its famous billionaire residents and views of Alcatraz and The Golden Gate Bridge, Pacific Heights offers easy access anywhere in The City.  The neighborhood includes Alta Plaza Park, Lafayette Park, famous movie homes such as the “Mrs. Doubtfire House,” and the residences of well-known San Francisco locals such as Nancy Pelosi and Larry Ellison.  Lined with Victorian homes and lush foliage, this quiet neighborhood is perfect for a resident looking to be close to all the action downtown and around San Francisco.  Luckily, Trinity has housing availability at four different Pacific Heights locations: 2000 Broadway, 1890 Clay, 2380 California, and 2200 Jackson.

We offer month-month fully furnished rentals as well as long-term unfurnished unit rentals.  With a variety of studio, Jr. 1 bedroom, 1×1, and 2×2 apartments, Trinity is sure to offer your dream Pacific Heights home.  Come check out our newly renovated units today!

Marina

If you enjoy nightlife but also love the outdoors, The Marina District may just be the place for you.  Located just north of Pacific Heights on the water is the very much alive and rambunctious Marina.  Known for its Chestnut and Fillmore Street attractions, The Marina always has something going on.  Popular recreational venues include The Palace of Fine Arts, Marina Green, Fort Mason, and Moscone Fields.  Each of these entirely free attractions are frequented by locals and tourists alike recreating along the many trails and parks.  With crystal-clear views of The Golden Gate Bridge, Marin County, and Alcatraz, it is easy to understand why residents here are so outdoorsy.  The Marina is also well-known for being one of the best places in San Francisco to meet new people and the famous “Marina Safeway” is a popular singles location to pick up groceries and maybe a friend.

Across the street from Safeway you can find our Marina Cove Apartments.  This perfectly-located Marina property includes recently-renovated and fully-furnished studio and 1 bedroom apartments ready for move-in today.

Russian Hill

Looking to elevate your lifestyle?  Russian Hill is one of San Francisco’s most famous, historic, and beloved neighborhoods.  The views from this neighborhood simply cannot be beat and the only downfall is the constant stream of tourism.  However, it is understandable why travelers venture from across the world top take in the sights of this world-renowned neighborhood.  The most popular attraction in the area is certainly the winding brick section of Lombard Street leading down the hill.  The “crookedest street in the world” draws a crowd everyday due to the tremendous views of the Bay Bridge, Marin County, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz.  Russian Hill is very steep but luckily cable cars travel down Hyde Street to transport residents up and down the steep streets.

1 block from the crooked section of Lombard is the towering 1000 Chestnut Apartments.  This luxurious building features a 24 hr doorman and units with some of the most unbelievable views you will ever see.  If you’re looking for a 1,2, or 3 bedroom fully-furnished unit atop Russian Hill, 1000 Chestnut is a must-see.  Also, Trinity offers unfurnished studio and 2 bedroom units on Russian Hill at 1059 Union Street.

North Beach

The North Beach Neighborhood consists of The Embarcadero, Telegraph Hill, Pier 39, and Fisherman’s Wharf.  A wildly popular tourist destination, North Beach is steeped in Italian heritage and includes many bars, cafes, and checkered-table cloth pizzerias.  Chinatown is also nearby and the famed Coit Tower can be found at the top of Telegraph Hill.   Pioneer Park, the location of Coit Tower, is a remarkable hilltop park donated by the city’s Italian community.  The views from atop the hill are remarkable and our 350 Union apartments are right next door.

We have studio and 1 bedroom availability in Telegraph Hill‘s most scenic property; just look out for the parrots!   North beach is a coveted residential district due to the plethora of nearby bars, clubs, restaurants, and other attractions near the many businesses in the Financial District.  If you’re looking for a fully-furnished high rise with extraordinary views, 2140 Taylor is a perfect option.  Also, if you want to be right around the Pier 39 action, our Stockton Street apartments have availability

SoMa

Working in tech and looking to live nearby the office? SoMa is San Francisco’s largest neighborhood and is known for its industrial past and tech-filled present and future.  Once covered in warehouses, SoMa has experienced a renaissance due to the massive amount of companies moving to the area.  Walking to work or catching BART/MUNI couldn’t be easier when living in this region, especially around the Civic Center.  SoMa experienced its rebirth in part due to the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park located in South Beach.  This state-of-the-art waterfront ballpark consistently sells out events and has paved the way for bars, clubs, restaurants, and much more to be developed in the area.  The neighborhood will also welcome a new tenant when the Golden State Warriors move across the bay later this year.

If you’re also looking to move in, Trinity Place features three properties surrounding the beautiful Piazza Angelo: 1188 Mission, 1190 Mission, and 33 8th Street.  View the largest sculpture in San Francisco every day straight from your bedroom window.

Just southwest of SoMa is the sunniest and clearest section of the city.  Known simply as “The Mission” this historic district gets its namesake from Mission San Francisco de Asis, the oldest structure in The City.  The Mission is usually sunny due to the the micro-climates of San Francisco and Twin Peaks that protect this neighborhood from fog and wind.  If you’re looking to soak up the sun and enjoy your weekend, Mission Dolores Park is the ultimate place to visit.  This lush green park is a beautiful sight and open space is limited on sunny weekends.  The Mission boasts a tremendous Mexican heritage and delicious taquerias can be seen lining the neighborhood streets.  The famous Castro Theatre is also just a few blocks away and you can easily access all the events that occur in The Castro district.

Our Casa Dolores Apartments on Dolores Street are the perfect option for prospective renters looking for a studio or one bedroom apartment in the area.

Sea Cliff

Want to get away from the bustling city and congestion? Sea Cliff has some of the most traversed trails and outdoors recreation opportunities in the Bay Area.  Views of the Pacific Ocean, Marin, and Golden Gate Bridge can each be seen from this amazing destination.  Popular with bikers and runners, the beaches and paths in this neighborhood are truly fantastic.  Travelers from all over come to visit Land’s End and take pictures from one of the most well-known photo spots around.  This upscale neighborhood is known as prestigious and is sometimes compared to Beverly Hills.

If you’re looking to live near Sutro Heights, Trinity has 1 bedroom units at 5635 Anza Street overlooking the ocean.
