Over 1,000 acres of green goodness. It’s magnolia season at SF’s botanical garden and there are over 200 magnificent trees with pink, white, and magenta flowers in bloom at the garden! The Japanese Tea Garden is filled with serene elements and feels as if you’ve been transported to Japan. There are native Japanese plants, koi ponds, a Zen garden, and many stepping-stone paths for you to enjoy. Both gardens are free for SF residents and the botanical garden is free for all every second Tuesday which happens to fall on Valentine’s Day. The area is extremely walkable with lots to explore including Dragon’s Gate, the Red Blossom Tea Company, and many small bakeries, shops, and grocers to enjoy.
