A Guide to San Francisco’s 2022 Fleet Week

Get ready for an exciting week of breathtaking air shows and inviting concerts and parades in The City. Fleet week is an annual event that brings together thousands of people from October 3rd through 11th. From the featured Blue Angels air show to ship tours, there’s loads of fun all weekend long. Come with us and explore the many activities and attractions to enjoy during Fleet week!

October 7th: Parade of Ships

Grab a spot along the shoreline at Marina Green or Crissy Field to see the Fleet enter the Bay from under the Golden Gate Bridge. The procession of ships will be escorted by the San Francisco Fire department with their fire boat, shooting jets of water into the air to announce the Fleet’s arrival. With unobstructed views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge, this largest Parade of Ships on the West Coast is sure to impress. The event starts at 11 am and our residents at our Marina Cove Apartments are conveniently positioned to enjoy Fleet Week at their leisure.

October 7-9: Air Show

The air show is one of the biggest and most watched events during Fleet Week. The waterfront show is headlined by The U.S. Navy Blue Angels and also features the United 777, performing a fully choreographed act. Enjoy this magnificent sight at Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, Marina Green, Crissy Field, Aquatic Park, or Coit Tower. For our residents at 2130 and 2133 Stockton, walking distance to Pier 39 will be worth it to beat the crowds.

October 8th: K9 Heroes

Calling all dog-loving attendees! Come and meet military and civilian dogs who work to save and change lives. Hosted at Duboce Park, K9 trainers will bring their heroes to showcase their unique abilities including, drug, food, and bomb detection. This event is a hit for all ages so bring your family and furry friends to see and meet these dogs who have become heroes to so many!

October 3-10: Navy and Marine Corps Bands

Enjoy great live music and meet inspiring service men and women during Fleet Week’s Neighborhood Concert Program. Performances will be held in different neighborhoods throughout The City including Chinatown, Hayes Valley, SoMa, and the Castro District. Check out their concert schedule to see where the bands are performing in your neighborhood!

October 3-11Veterans Art Exhibit

In collaboration with The Academy of Art University Photography Department, this art exhibit features original work by student veterans and those serving in the military. Explore many creative pieces created by veterans and service men and women around the nation. Our Trinity Towers residents are a short walk away from this special exhibition!

This family-friendly event hosted at Marina Green highlights a fully interactive and educational program to engage and inspire youth in STEM. Renewable energy, robotics, water desalination, and more are a few topics included in this event to entertain and educate children of all ages. Enjoy and explore what unique opportunities there are in science, technology, engineering, and math!

October 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10: Ship Tours

Get a glimpse of the day-to-day lives of U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard sailors in this unique opportunity to tour visiting ships docked at the Port of San Francisco. A lineup of exciting ships are will be open for exploration, including Fleet Week’s largest ship, the LSD, which will be located at Pier 35. Have fun climbing aboard!
