The 21+ venue dates back to the 1990s and has always been a well-liked setting for private parties and events. Undoubtedly the most exquisite bar in the Mid-Market area, Charmaine’s sits 120 feet above Market Street on top of the luxurious Proper Hotel. Complete with both indoor and outdoor rooftop seating, Charmaine’s boasts a stunning view of the San Francisco skyline. Rooftop bars are few and far between in the foggy city, but this one is sure to impress even the toughest of customers.

If dive bars are more your vibe, head over to Club 93 on the corner of 9th and Mission. This longtime SoMa watering hole is approved by sports fans, serving well-priced cold drinks in an excellent atmosphere displaying plenty of games on TV.

Located right next to Trinity Place on Mission Street, City Beer Store has become a favorite of employees, residents, and friends since moving to its new location in 2018. The shop offers a seemingly never-ending variety of beer and often has some of the most unique and rare brews found in The City. But it’s not just beer! City Beer Store also operates a full-service restaurant with delicious creations that are much more than just bar bites.

1015 Folsom

One of The City’s most vibrant venues is making its return in 2021, and a full schedule of massive events is planned for the rest of the year at the 20,000 square foot space. 1015 Folsom has hosted many notable events within its 5-room, 1400 person venue since opening in 1986. As restrictions are lifted, this iconic nightclub is now ready to bring these awesome events back to SF!

Johnny Foley’s Irish House

A slightly further walk from Trinity Place than the other bars on this list, Johnny Foley’s in Union Square is known for its delicious Irish cuisine, cold pints, and classic SF ambiance. Also celebrated for their awesome sign outside the bar, Johnny Foley’s Irish House reminds us that it’s never a bad time for a pint!

Monarch SF is a multi-functional venue at the corner of 6th & Mission nicely suited for a night of music, movement, and plenty of memories with your friends! There is no dress code, and you can purchase tickets in advance online.

Another excellent Irish Pub offering quality drinks and meals is The Chieftain at 5th & Howard in SoMa. Built with mahogany wood and Belgian castle stone, The Chieftain has become a sought-after spot to watch soccer, rugby, baseball, football, and in recent times, just about any other sport you can name. Originally established as the M&M Tavern in 1946, this iconic pub has a large beer selection, including a 20oz Guinness known as the “Perfect Pint.”

A different swanky SoMa nightclub that has recently reopened to the masses, F8 at 8th & Folsom, “provides a culture of eclectic music ranging from House to Hip hop, Techno to Dubstep, Electro House to Drum, and Bass and much more.” The 250-person venue has various upcoming shows scheduled, including craft cocktails and bottle service available for purchase.

Mikkeller Bar

Based in Denmark, Mikkeller makes some of the finest craft beer around and chose to open their first bar outside their home country on Mason Street in SF. The 1907 Victorian building shows off bare brick walls and steel beams with “easygoing Nordic undertones” in the multi-level space. The bar serves 40 beers on tap, all pouring a wide range of hoppy, light, dark, and sour beers.

Trademark & Copyright

Truly a sports fan’s dream, Folsom Street’s Trademark & Copyright is filled with bar games, great drinks, a lively atmosphere, and sports memorabilia as far as the eye can see! This multi-room space is sure to fit your gameday vibe while also acting as a solid establishment for happy hour and brunch! Known for their never-ending mimosas, it’s a never-ending good time at Trademark & Copyright.

OASIS

Founded on New Year’s Day in 2015, OASIS has won multiple “Best in the Bay” awards for its fantastic drag show and cabaret venue. Located in SoMa, this 8,000 square foot venue is a converted bathhouse offering a diverse roster of local and visiting drag stars, DJs, musical acts, and much more! Cellarmaker Brewing

There’s no shortage of great beer in SoMa, and Cellarmaker Brewing is a big reason why! This small-batch brewery creates various experimental beers that constantly produce new and intriguing flavors to be enjoyed across the Bay Area. Many of these experimental beers are only available for a limited time at their SF taproom, so this is a must-visit for all local beer enthusiasts!
