Pumpkin patches, haunted houses, spooky movies, costume parties, and lots of candy combine to signal the anticipated weekend of Halloween. Whether you’re looking to experience the chills and thrills of a haunted house or attend a family-friendly event, SF has a variety of activities to celebrate and embrace the spooky season. Let’s explore seven events exclusively happening in October for Halloween.

Experience Chills at The Summoning

Hosted at the San Francisco Mint, the Summoning is a brand new, fully immersive haunted experience guaranteed to make you scream with terror. Guests will participate in a real live séance that comes face-to-face with demonic spirits in a thrilling adventure. This theatrical experience will take you through shocking twists and turns and brings chills to your body as you interact with hauntingly terrifying characters. Our residents at Trinity Place and Trinity Towers are only a short drive away from this Halloween experience! Tickets are available from October 19th to November 5th!

Family Fun at Clancy’s Pumpkin Patch

A community tradition for 72 years, Clancy’s Pumpkin Patch is a lovely spot that offers an amazing selection of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, and Indian corn just in time for Halloween. Walk through their pumpkin patch, stop for photo ops with their festive décor, and even take a hay ride in the middle of San Francisco! Clancy’s is pet friendly so your furry friends can join you as you pick up your pumpkins for carving, decorating, and baking. Choose from Munchkin pumpkins, Sugar Pie pumpkins, Cinderella pumpkins, and even blue, white, and striped pumpkins. Two locations are open this year, from 9 am – 9 pm till October 31st.

Sweet and Spooky Treats at Fillmore Bakeshop

A neighborhood classic in Pac Heights, Fillmore Bakeshop is embracing Halloween through its sweet and beautifully decorated treats! Monsters, ghouls, and ghosts shaped cookies, petit fours, gluten-free meringues, and more, are being baked to perfection this October. Lucky for our residents at Clay Park Towers and 2000 Broadway, these yummy desserts are only a short five minute drive away!

Listen to Halloween Classics at a Candlelight Concert 

For those who would like to experience the spooky season in a more mellow sense, this Candlelight concert featuring Halloween classics fits the bill. Located 7 minutes away from our apartments at 179 Clifford Terrace and 215 Upper Terrace, experience the magic of Halloween at St. Ignatius Church with the Listeso String Quartet. This Candlelight concert will play classics including Thriller by Michael Jackson, Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the Beetlejuice theme song. Tickets are available for October 20th or 27th evening.

Sip and Walk at Crawloween Pub Crawl

One of the best party days of the year, celebrate Halloween with thousands of costumed people as you drink and dance the night away during Crawloween! With more than 50 bars to choose from, this pub crawl starts on 1233 Polk Street and even includes a party bus for those who don’t want to walk. An outrageous costume contest to showcase the most unique and creative costumes will be hosted so come out in your most daring creations. Tickets are available for October 28th, 29th, and 31st.

A family-friendly Halloween party and movie are being hosted at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium! Moments away for our residents at Trinity Place, games, prizes, food, and the showing of Disney’s Encanto will be playing on Saturday, October 29th from 2 pm – 6 pm. It’s free admission to attend and this family event is great for the little ones to celebrate Halloween and win free prizes!

Spooky Mayhem Mansion Evening Tour

Experience Halloween with a guided evening tour of the historic Haas-Lilienthal House. A three-minute walk away from our apartments at Clay Park Towers, this thrilling mysterious tour will take you through the Mayhem Mansion uncovering the magnificent manse and you never know what’s hiding in the dark corners behind closed doors… Get some liquid courage before or after the tour, in their Spookeasy Ballroom saloon, serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks for purchase. Tickets are available during the last two weekends in October from 7 pm – 11 pm each night.
