Fresh fruit, organic vegetables, and ready-made meals are easily obtained at San Francisco Farmers’ Markets located across The City! Enjoy an urban tractor ride with us to explore ten of the top spots offering locally-grown produce and much more!

Heart of The City Farmers’ Market

Opened in 1981, this popular UN Plaza Farmers’ Market has operated for 40 years right here in the heart of San Francisco. Located directly across Market Street from the brand-new 1177 Market apartments, SF’s only independent, farmer-operated, non-profit market is open rain or shine from 7 AM – 5 PM on Wednesdays and Sundays. Residents of 1188 Mission, 1190 Mission, and 33 8th have long visited this lovely bi-weekly gathering. However, Trinity Place will soon become a hotspot for groceries every day with the arrival of Whole Foods.

Fillmore Farmers’ Market

Fun times and fresh foods can be found in The Fillmore year-round at the Fillmore Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 9 AM – 1 PM. Open at 1700 O’Farrell Street, an array of juicy tomatoes, colorful summer squash, herbs, stone fruits, corn-on-the-cob, and much more can be purchased here! Parking is limited, so if you live close by at a location like Trinity Towers or the 2380 California apartments, it is recommended to walk, bike, or take public transit!

Fort Mason Center Farmers’ Market

Golden Gate views, delicious treats, and good vibes all make for an excellent Sunday afternoon at Fort Mason. The weekly farmers’ market is open from 9:30 AM – 1 PM, with over 35 farmers and food purveyors serving a variety of pastured meats, locally raised eggs, asparagus, hearty greens, root vegetables, artisan breads, dried beans, fruit, and meals ready to enjoy! Positioned right across Laguna Street from the Marina Cove apartments, Sundays are a great chance to grab tasty local foods in the Marina District.

Clement St. Farmers’ Market

Locals of San Francisco’s Inner Richmond District, such as the residents at the 422 9th430 9th, & 440 9th apartments, can find their closest farmers’ market open every Sunday from 9 AM – 2 PM. Centered at 244 Clement Street, the market is known for its abundance of seasonal produce, baked goods, fresh flowers, and hot foods. You can even pick up a “Bounty Box” filled with some of the best seasonal fruit, herbs, salad fixings, and other veggies!

The Inner Sunset Farmers’ Market between 8th & 9th Avenue on Irving is another great place to buy delicious and fresh food in SF on Sundays. Available weekly from 9 AM – 1 PM, this is a wonderful first stop on a Sunday morning before heading to Golden Gate Park for a day of fun. Currently, the market has a great selection of early fall produce that includes a unique variety of apples!

North Beach Farmers’ Market

Joe Dimaggio Playground is the place to be from 9 AM – 1 PM in North Beach! Right across Columbus Street from the Crystal Tower apartments and a short walk from 1000 Chestnut, 1059 Union350 Union, and 2133 Stockton, this recently expanded market brings fresh local food to one of San Francisco’s most iconic neighborhoods. While the area is most well-known for its mouth-watering pizzerias and trattorias, you can also pick up the ingredients needed to cook up your own delicious meal from home!

Castro Farmers’ Market

Operating on Wednesdays from 2:30 PM – 7 PM in the center of SF’s Castro District at 290 Noe, the bright colors of delicious peaches, nectarines, zucchini, squash, raspberries, and melons add to the beauty of the historic neighborhood, A quick walk down 16th Street from the 240 Dolores & 230 Dolores apartments, we recommend grabbing a snack to enjoy at the nearby Mission Dolores Park before you head back home!

Mission Community Market

Another phenomenal option for Mission or Castro Districts residents is the Mission Community Market at Bartlett & 22nd. Running on Thursdays from 3 PM – 7 PM, this local community celebration is more than just great food! The market also operates La Placita Public Space, an area of Bartlett Street dedicated to community arts and events in the Mission District!

Divisadero Farmers’ Market

If you live North of the Panhandle in a lovely location such as 2240 Golden Gate, you may be familiar with the seasonal options available at Divisadero Farmers’ Market. Open on Sundays from 10 AM – 2 PM at 1820 Hayes Street. Here you can stock up on early fall apples, grapes, figs, peppers, berries, brussel sprouts, and other favorites.

Ferry Building Farmer’s Market

Certainly the most popular Farmers’ Market in San Francisco, over 40,000 shoppers visit the Ferry Building Farmers’ Market each week! The scenic market operates at the Ferry Plaza and is widely acclaimed for its quality and diversity of products. Serving up dishes from some of The City’s most well-known chefs, this is not just any other spot to pick up groceries. You can visit the market on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM – 2 PM, and on Saturdays from 8 AM – 2 PM.
